Abstract

The American mink Neogale vison, introduced in Argentina since the beginnings of the 20th century, is known locally as a major threat to biodiversity. Within the existing control methods, eradication and population control are implemented. The latter has been carried out in Los Alerces National Park since 2019, with live-capture traps and calculation of costs. Sixteen minks were captured, with different costs, according mostly to the difficulty of access. We propose to continue the management to assess its efficiency and to include the costs in future programs.
