Tunga perforans is a flea whose females perforate osteoderms of armadillos. We examined armadillos deposited in several mammal collections to expand our knowledge on the distribution of this flea in Argentina. The presence of injuries similar to those caused by T. perforans was taken into account. Seventy-five carapaces of Chaetophractus vellerosus, Chaetophractus villosus, Tolypeutes matacus, Zaedyus pichiy, Euphractus sexcinctus, and Priodontes maximus were found with perforations attributed to this species. These findings suggest that T. perforans is widely distributed in armadillos from arid and semiarid areas from Argentina.
