The presence of Lutreolina massoia Martínez-Lanfranco, Flores, Jayat & D'Elía, 2014 is documented for the first time in the province of Catamarca. Through camera traps, an individual was recorded in the Yungas Forest of Paclín department, in photographs and video. This record extends the known distribution of the species and records a new species for the mammals of Catamarca province. Later, another record was documented by means of a home video in Aconquija, Andalgalá department. These findings are a sign of the lack of studies in this area, especially for species with some degree of threat.
