Lejos de casa: nuevo registro para delfines comunes de pico corto, Delphinus delphis (Cetacea, Odontoceti, Delphinidae), en Bahía Camarones, Patagonia, República Argentina

Resumen

El delfín común de pico corto, Delphinus delphis (Linnaeus, 1758), es un pequeño cetáceo con distribución en aguas tropicales y subtropicales. En el presente trabajo se reporta un nuevo registro de delfines comunes de pico corto en el área de Bahía Camarones, Patagonia, República Argentina. El pequeño grupo de delfines estaba formado por tres individuos adultos y un individuo más pequeño, probablemente juvenil. Este evento de avistamiento constituye el registro más meridional de la especie en la costa argentina, destacándose aquí la importancia de los monitoreos sistemáticos como parte integral de cualquier programa destinado a promover el bienestar de las comunidades locales de cetáceos.
