Animales terrestres de un bosque intacto en Darién, Panamá: un inventario participativo de biodiversidad de mamíferos usando cámaras trampa

Presentamos un inventario general de la fauna presente en las Tierras Colectivas Emberá de Balsas, Darién, Panamá. Gracias a su conocimiento de los bosques, los técnicos de Emberá desempeñaron un papel fundamental en el estudio. Se instalaron cámaras trampa en múltiples sitios durante periodos variables a lo largo de cuatro años (enero de 2019 – enero de 2023). Se observaron 24 especies de mamíferos y 11 especies de aves durante 2233 días de monitoreo con cámaras trampa, lo que demuestra una alta riqueza faunística. Se requiere investigación adicional para analizar la abundancia y los patrones de distribución.
