Eficacia comparativa de protocolos ketamina–medetomidina–atipamezol y tiletaminazolazepam–xilazina–yohimbina en pecaríes de collar Pecari tajacu (Linnaeus, 1758) en cautiverio

Este estudio comparó los efectos fisiológicos y los perfiles de recuperación de dos protocolos de contención química en 15 ejemplares de pecarí de collar: KMA (ketamina–medetomidina–atipamezol) y TZX (tiletamina–zolazepam–xilazina–yohimbina). Se registraron parámetros cualitativos y cuantitativos (frecuencia cardíaca, respiratoria, temperatura, presión arterial y saturación de oxígeno). Ambos protocolos proporcionaron una anestesia estable. KMA mostró un tiempo de inducción más corto (P = 0,04) y menor frecuencia cardíaca, mientras que los tiempos de recuperación fueron similares. Aunque KMA puede preferirse para una inducción más rápida, la variabilidad individual resalta la necesidad de un monitoreo personalizado y una selección cuidadosa de la dosis.
